Year 8 deserve exciting, engaging lessons after the hard work they've put in. Remind them why English is a great subject - they responded well to the challenges we presented them with, and showed that they can be a superb year group.
Year 7 have been near-faultless this year. They deserve to enjoy thought provoking, challenging and interactive lessons, creating memories which will take them through to year 8.
Year 9 have, overall, been a revelation - they're coming to the boil nicely ahead of KS4, and we need to ensure that they are completely ready for the challenges that await.
Year 10 have their exam tomorrow, if they're in HMC band, and S band are underway with their Literature course. Again, let's ensure that they're in the right place ahead of the challenges that await them next year. I'm not just on about English; they'll be pushed, pulled and challenged everywhere they go - make sure they're fully on board with what they need to be doing.
Get educating. Remember what they need, and get the simple things right. Slack off, and they will punish you at this stage of the year. Standards have been consistently high, and they should be until the final whistle.
Be rebellious. Do something different. Something you've wanted to all year. Create some memories, so that September feels closer when it comes. Remember the real purpose of education.
