Season's Greetings

Thank you, one and all, for your hard work during this long tern term. Imagine a long tern. A very long bird. Hilarious. Try googling it. Even funnier.

We've been through the usual processes, with meetings, marking and more. Your contributions are superb, and highly appreciated both by me, and those above. SLT, not the angelic host to whom we will dedicate our offerings during Mithramas

We have got most of our pupils into a decent position. The year eleven picture is OK, and there is some healthy progress across all year groups. However, we can't have any complacency. One of the most positive aspects of you as a department is the focused willingness you bring to your daily grind. Don't lose that.

Relax over the holiday, and come back ready to smash 2015 into next year!

Educational Occultism.

Education is not an occult practice. Drawing boxes around mystical acronyms does not enhance the power of the spell, as if we're some sort of latter-day John Dees conjuring hidden information from the depths of time and space.

It's an open and clear process. William (of) Occam, a razor sharp man, had a much better idea. He strips things down to their bare necessities. The essentials. The precious fluids which flow through all.

Keep it simple. Strip back the superfluous and retain that which achieves something.

Like, for once, this blog.
